I have been practicing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in psychiatric and mental health nursing since 2000.  As a psychiatric prescriber with a background in nursing, I take an individualized and holistic approach to my clients' needs while helping to form a treatment team with their other providers.  I feel consistent communication and collaboration with other members of a client's treatment team is a vital (and often overlooked) factor in a timely recovery and long-term wellness.

I have a bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Delaware and a master's degree in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. In almost two decades of mental health advanced practice nursing,  I have helped treat a variety of patient populations in many different treatment settings, including hospitals (acute and chronic care), day programs or intensive out-patient programs, community mental health clinics and substance abuse programs. I have been fortunate to function in many different roles of a psychiatric treatment team.  These roles have  included nurse, therapist, prescriber and liaison to other treatment providers such as primary care doctors, neurologists, OB/GYNs, endocrinologists, psychotherapists, and social workers.

In addition to patient care, I have also enjoyed teaching bachelor's and master's level nursing students at Drexel University, Rutgers University, the University of Delaware, and the University of Pennsylvania.
